Our Client is looking for a Transport Planner to join their team in Maidstone. You will be working in a supportive and collaborative team on a range of projects from small scale access assessments to the preparation of Transportation Assessments for strategic development sites.

You will be a key addition to their team, contributing to the continued development of the Transport Planning team and wider business.


The Transport Planner Role:

You will be involved in the following role responsibilities:

  • Develop transport infrastructure scheme designs using AutoCAD in line with industry guidance and standards
  • Undertake and oversee road network analysis.
  • Preparation of technical reports (Transportation Assessments, Access Appraisals, Travel Plans etc)

 

Candidate Specification:


You will be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Transport Planning or a related discipline
  • Experience in transport engineering and planning with demonstrable skills in all or some of the following:
  • Development planning
  • Traffic engineering
  • Working knowledge of Junctions 9, LINSIG, TRANSYT.
  • A working knowledge of Paramics Discovery would be beneficial
  • Infrastructure design applying SCOTS / DMRB roads design principles
  • Feasibility studies
  • Sustainable transport planning
  • A member of a relevant professional organisation (such as CIHT or ICE) ideally on route to incorporated or chartered status
  • Experience and working knowledge of AutoCAD software
  • MSc or further postgraduate qualifications related to transport planning or transport engineering would be beneficial

Our Client has an immediate vacancy for a senior civil engineer to work within their experienced London civil engineering design team.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Civil Engineer role will involve the design and drafting of SuDS schemes, private externals works, Section 38 and Section 104 works for adoption.

The role will also include the design and drafting of civil engineering works for a variety of sectors.

Designs range from multi-storey structures to small housing schemes and range in construction value from £250,000 to £30M.

The team works for clients throughout the East Midlands and United Kingdom.

They design SuDS drainage schemes and highway works using Microdrainage and PDS industry standard software with final drawings produced in AutoCAD.

The role will also involve the planning and organisation of tasks, people and resources to deliver projects on time and in accordance with the current design guidelines.

Experience:

The role would suit a Senior Civil Engineer with 5 to 10 years’ experience.

The successful candidate will be given on the job training to develop their skills and they will work closely with the other members of the civil engineering team.

Client care is of paramount importance to the company and the successful Senior Civil Engineer will be an able communicator, both in written English and verbally, in person and on the telephone.

Knowledge of the construction industry and basic health and safety is essential.

A logical analytical approach to problem solving should be demonstrated.

Experience in the use of Microdrainage and PDS is required.

Civils 3D would be advantageous.

The Role
As the Senior Civil Engineer, reporting to the Associate Director, you will lead the design delivery for a variety of projects within the drainage infrastructure sector, with challenging projects in sustainable urban and conventional surface water drainage. Have or be nearing Chartership

Have SuDS Approval Body approval

Competent in 3D design and modelling

Highly competent using MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, Civils 3D, and/or Autodesk ICM

Knowledge of Water Authority approval processes (i.e. S104, S106)

Awareness of Planning Policy and design requirements relating to flood risk management

Able to manage workloads effectively and efficiently to meet deadlines

Competent in relationship building (i.e. with external bodies and authorities)

Able to work to your own initiative, independently, and within a team
