Working with a talented team of Chartered, mid-level and graduate engineers, our client is seeking a highly motivated, dedicated Civil Engineer to join their Edinburgh Office.
The successful candidate will have sound experience in a wide variety of Civil Engineering projects including highway and drainage design for a variety of sites with particular experience of both private and public works, including sections agreements (S38, S278, S106 etc).
Working on a broad range of projects, this high performing team of professionals are looking for diligent individual who can produce all relevant drawings for Civil Engineering projects. The projects are very diverse and generally challenging, incorporating bespoke new build, refurbishment and heritage works.

YOU WILL NEED
- At least 5 years post qualification experience in Civil Engineering

CIVIL ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES
Experience with the following would be highly desirable:
- Providing high quality concept, preliminary and detailed technical design on projects requiring highway and drainage design.
- Carrying out a range of drainage calculations, including QBar, attenuation storage, soakaway sizing, foul loads, pipeline capacities and network analysis for a range of drainage applications.
- Carrying out a range of adoptable and non-adoptable highway, driveway carparking and footpath structural pavement designs for a range of permeable and non-permeable surfaces.
- Preparing Developer Enquiries, Environment Agency product requests and LLFA information requests, relating to drainage designs, flood risk assessments and drainage strategies.
- Preparing S104, S106 and S185 application forms and associated packages for submission to the Drainage Authority and Planning Authority.
- Preparing S184, S278 and S38 application forms and associated packages for submission to the Highway Authority.
- Report writing, e.g. Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategy Reports etc.
- Management of sustainability criteria
- Complying with designers’ duties under the CDM Regulations
